Formation and Early Years
MECCA ENGINEERING COMPANY (MEC Pvt Limited) was established in 1993 with the ambition to become the leading Instrumentation and Control Company in Pakistan. The company’s first principle was Honeywell, and its first customer was Ismail Industries Socks Knitting Plant. MEC’s scope of work included all low voltage switchgear panels, PFI panels, DC inverters, along with engineering, supply, installation, and commissioning tasks.
Expansion into Sugar Industry
In the same year, MEC ventured into the sugar industry by undertaking the instrumentation maintenance job for Sindh Abadgar Sugar Mills Limited. This success led to maintenance contracts with three more sugar mills: Shahmurad Sugar Mills, Al-noor Sugar Mills, and Al Abbas Sugar Mills Limited.
Diversification and Growth
MEC’s clientele expanded significantly, serving various sectors including oil and gas, and food and beverages. Notable customers included:
- Pakistan State Oil - Kemari Terminal, Bin Qasim Terminal, Lalpir Terminal, Korangi Blending Plant, etc.

Joint Ventures and Certifications
In 1995, MEC entered a joint venture with HMC and affiliated with ABB / PEL to bid on projects for complete cement plant and sugar plant power generation & distribution, instrumentation & control for an IRAN project.
By 2000, MEC became the first ISO9001 Certified Instrument Company in Pakistan. They established an ISO9001 Certified lab and began providing calibration services to various industries including sugar plants, textile plants, pharmaceutical industries, Food & Beverages,SSGC, and Chemical plants etc.

TEXTILE INDUSTRY YOUNUS Textile and ZARQ Textile ENERGY CONSRVATION PROJECTS.
Calculate Water and Gas for Boiler and then calculate Steam to measure Boiler efficiency and on the other hand calculate gas/steam used by their Dying and printing machines by using flowmeters , totalizers and with Honeywell HC 900 / UMC 800 Hybrid controller. This help customer to get exact amount of gas and steam usage on each machine. In this way UTILITY Cost can be calculated and loss of efficiency calculated.
PHARMACY INDUSTRIES MACHINES VALIDATION.
MEC did validation as per FDA Procedure of Pharma machinery like Environment Chamber, Hot air Steriliser and High Temperature Lab Oven.
Major Successes (2001 - 2012)
Refurbishment of all refinery Pneumatic instruments, control / Safety valves regulator, Pressure & Temp Gauges. Erection, Installation Cable Laying fitting, termination, calibration and commissioning of complete plant automation.
MEC supplied electronic field instruments and controllers where Pneumatic instruments were missing. Furthermore, MEC signed two year maintenance contract with BYCO.
